Tính từ là những từ làm cho ngôn ngữ trở nên sống động. Không có chúng, mọi thứ đều đơn điệu: “I saw a dog” (Tôi thấy một con chó) trở thành “I saw a huge, scruffy, adorable dog” (Tôi thấy một con chó to lớn, xù xì và đáng yêu). Danh từ vẫn vậy, nhưng tính từ vẽ nên bức tranh — kích thước, tình trạng, cảm xúc — chỉ bằng ba từ.

Tiếng Anh có hàng nghìn tính từ, nhưng nhiều người học chỉ quanh quẩn với cùng hai mươi từ: good, bad, big, small, nice, happy, sad, beautiful, ugly, old, new, young, fast, slow, easy, hard, hot, cold, long, short. Những từ này dùng được — nhưng khiến tiếng Anh của bạn nghe cơ bản và lặp lại.

Hướng dẫn này giới thiệu 500 tính từ được sắp xếp theo trình độ (A1–C1) và chủ đề (ngoại hình, tính cách, kích thước, ý kiến, v.v.). Mỗi tính từ có định nghĩa rõ ràng và câu ví dụ. Hãy dùng danh sách này làm tài liệu tham khảo để nâng cấp vốn từ một cách có hệ thống.

  • Tổng số: 500 tính từ
  • Sắp xếp theo: trình độ CEFR (A1–C1) và nhóm ngữ nghĩa
  • Định dạng: tính từ → nghĩa → ví dụ
  • Phù hợp với: mở rộng từ vựng, cải thiện kỹ năng viết, ôn thi

Tính từ là gì?

Tính từ là từ miêu tả hoặc bổ nghĩa cho danh từ. Tính từ trả lời những câu hỏi như:

  • Loại nào? — a tall building, a beautiful sunset
  • Bao nhiêu? — several options, few mistakes
  • Cái nào? — this book, that car
  • Bao nhiêu? — enough time, little patience

Thứ tự của nhiều tính từ

Khi dùng nhiều tính từ trước một danh từ, tiếng Anh tuân theo thứ tự cụ thể:

Ý kiến → Kích thước → Tuổi → Hình dáng → Màu sắc → Nguồn gốc → Chất liệu → Mục đích
