Writing Task 2 어휘는 어떻게 채점되나요?
IELTS 채점관은 네 가지 측면에서 Lexical Resource를 평가합니다.

Writing 어휘 점수를 낮추는 실수 5가지
1. 같은 단어를 지나치게 반복하기. “important”를 네 번 쓰면 어휘 범위 점수가 낮아집니다. crucial, essential, pivotal, vital 같은 동의어를 활용하세요.
2. 비격식적인 표현 사용하기. 축약형(don’t, won’t), 속어(kids, stuff, cool), 모호한 단어(things, a lot)는 피하세요. 학술 글쓰기에는 격식 있는 문체가 필요합니다.
3. 어려운 단어를 잘못 억지로 끼워 넣기. “The government should ameliorate the situation by doing education”은 “The government should improve access to education”보다 좋지 않습니다. 복잡성보다 정확성이 우선입니다.
4. 연어를 무시하기. “Make progress”가 맞고 “do progress”는 틀립니다. “A significant number”는 자연스럽지만 “a significant amount of people”은 틀립니다(셀 수 있는 명사에는 “number”를 쓰세요).
5. 문장 맨 앞에만 연결어를 쓰기. “However, X. Furthermore, Y. Moreover, Z.”라는 패턴은 기계적으로 들립니다. “X, however, remains contested.”처럼 위치를 다양하게 바꾸세요.
