Зачем нужны академические синонимы
Академическое письмо предъявляет три требования, которых нет в неформальном:
1. Точность. “Good” может означать 50 разных вещей. “Effective” — что работает. “Beneficial” — что помогает. “Valid” — что логически обосновано. Каждый синоним сужает значение.

В чём разница между синонимом и перефразированием?
Синоним — одно слово с тем же значением, что и другое (important → crucial). Перефразирование — переформулировка целой фразы или предложения другими словами (“The results were surprising” → “The findings exceeded initial expectations”). В академическом письме нужны оба: синонимы для замены отдельных слов, перефразирование — для пересказа источников без плагиата.
Можно ли просто использовать тезаурус для поиска академических синонимов?
Тезаурус даёт варианты, но не подсказывает, какой синоним уместен в академическом письме. У “big” есть синонимы “huge”, “enormous”, “massive” — но в академическом письме уместнее “substantial”, “considerable”, “significant”. Всегда проверяйте, что синоним соответствует академическому регистру.
Сколько академических синонимов использовать в эссе IELTS?
